Ingredients:
- 4 slices of bread
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 slices of cheese (such as cheddar or Swiss)
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup of milk
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of butter
Instructions:
1. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.
2. Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on two bread slices. Top with the remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
3. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add the butter. Make sure the butter coats the bottom of the pan evenly.
4. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides thoroughly.
5. Place the dipped sandwiches onto the hot skillet or griddle. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
6. Press down on the sandwiches gently with a spatula while cooking to help them cook evenly and flatten slightly.
7. Once the sandwiches are cooked to your liking, remove them from the skillet and let them cool for a minute before slicing and serving.
8. Serve your delicious ham and cheese French toast sandwiches hot and enjoy a quick and tasty breakfast!
