Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Add in the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well to combine.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. If using walnuts, fold them into the batter at this stage.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Once baked, remove the banana treat from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  10. Transfer the loaf to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Tips:

  • For added flavor, sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg into the batter.
  • You can also incorporate chocolate chips or dried fruit for a tasty twist.
  • This banana treat is best enjoyed warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
