Ingredients:
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Add in the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well to combine.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
- If using walnuts, fold them into the batter at this stage.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the banana treat from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- Transfer the loaf to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Tips:
- For added flavor, sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg into the batter.
- You can also incorporate chocolate chips or dried fruit for a tasty twist.
- This banana treat is best enjoyed warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
