During brumation, bearded dragons enter a state of dormancy where their metabolic rate slows down, and they become less active. However, they are still able to bask and absorb heat while sleeping, as this behavior helps regulate their body temperature. So, even though it may seem contradictory, bearded dragons can indeed find slumber while enjoying the warmth and comfort of their basking spot.
